Hi, I’m Estel. I was born in Hungary and my parents moved to the United States when I was 14 so I have my childhood memories of Budapest.
My best memories are of the Christmas and going to Vörösmarty square for the small wooden shops to buy the candies. And in the spring looking forward to the spring festival too.
My goal here is to find some of my relatives that came to America long before my family and I did. They came here at different times over 2 decades so it has been hard to find some of them.
As you know most want to own lands so the big thing I have done and found a few relatives was to go here: http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/default.aspx To the land management offices and search for land deeds and records. It’s not so easy to use but it has helped. You can’t just use one big search they have separate places on the site you must search. It’s been worth it.
What is your story? And what places have given you the best results?
Thank you, Estel Risko
